Restoration

Restoration work may be needed on older buildings to restore them to their original condition or as near to their original condition as possible.

In this case the building is in need of repair without the requirement of modernising the appearance. This is the case with heritage buildings or where the owners prefer the building to retain the original appearance. This can involve major repairs to some structures and the rebuilding of severely damaged or missing parts of a building. Although more modern materials and techniques may be used, the result is that the appearance of the building is in line with the appearance when it was originally built.
