Rising Damp

Rising Damp occurs when moisture is absorbed from the ground and rises vertically up the walls. This normally occurs when the damp proof course has failed, inadequate sub-floor ventilation, sub-floor obstructions or poor drainage. Besides causing aesthetic damage, structural integrity may be comprised when left untreated and the mould infestation may develop into a health hazard in some people.
